Jackson Oil Company was founded in 1935.  Joe and Ramona Carter purchased Jackson Oil Co. on September 15, 1976, from Dallas Jones who had also run a plumbing operation out of the rear of the building.

In 1976, Jackson Oil Co. consisted of one location (2080 Kentucky Ave. Indianapolis, Indiana), three delivery trucks, and four employees.  The name was changed to Jackson Oil & Solvents and the company was incorporated on November 30, 1979.  Since 1979, Jackson Oil & Solvents, Inc. has undergone two building expansions.  The main office plus warehouse was built in 1982, and in 1988 additional warehouse space was added. 

The company purchased Aero Oil Company on August 1, 1998, including office and warehouse space in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  On June 16, 2000, additional property was acquired at 1850 Kentucky Avenue.  And by 2001, Jackson Oil & Solvents, Inc. has grown to approximately 100 employees, 20 delivery trucks, and four transports, which deliver throughout the state of Indiana.

Jackson Oil & Solvents, Inc. also has three Phillips 66 gas and convenience stores, serving not only our fleet trade but many customers from the surrounding areas.  In April 1995, RAMJO, INC., a sister company of Jackson Oil, built the first super convenience store, Joe's Junction #9, at 2210 Kentucky Avenue in Indianapolis.  Joe's Junction #8 followed in October 1997, at 114 North State Road 135 in Trafalgar, Indiana and Joe's Junction #7 was purchased in May of 2004, located at 2310 Madison Avenue in Indianapolis.
